Why schools, preschools, nurseries and playgroups like our membership standards.

A growing number of schools and preschools can see that there is absolutely no reason why a photographer shouldn't be a SPP member.
By choosing an SPP member they feel they can be sure they are using a dedicated photographer that operates under a strict Code of Conduct and constantly strives to improve the service they provide. All this can help schools and preschools make a more informed choice about who they use for your next photo-session.

CRB's no longer needed by school photographers.

New legislation (Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) took effect on Monday, 10th September 2012 with the introduction of changes to 'Regulated Activity'. Effectively, because you as a photographer are supervised whilst in schools and other similar establishments, and will not meet the frequent or intensive rule, there is no requirement for you to undertake a CRB check. However, we know it is ultimately for the Head Teacher to determine whether a CRB check is required for a specific role within a school bearing in mind their legal and other responsibilities. Safeguarding the children in their care is of the utmost importance! [MORE].

Schools & preschools are looking at SPP membership as a guide to high standards.

Membership is open to any full-time professional photographers that work in schools and/or preschools (whether they work for themselves or for a company), that is prepared to operate to a Code of Conduct and to a very high standard for the benefit of our industry. For the professional that offers a school or preschool photography service, membership says a lot about you. It shows your current and prospective school & preschool customers that you are prepared to adhere to the highest possible standards in both your photography, conduct and the implementation of the service you provide.
